How do we get there?  The postcode for the lane the campsite is on is GL7 4NJ off of Whelford Road down a lane called Washpool lane. It will be sign posted to help you find us once you've followed the satnav to the postcode. During the airshow Whelford Road operates a one way system. Based on previous years the one way system runs from the direction of Lechlade in the morning and switches direction in the afternoon. Check the official Air tattoo website for the best routes and info on the one way system. For ease, we recommend booking your pitch with us and setting up prior to the weekend however the site will still be accessible during the operation of the one way system, we just advise that you plan your route ahead of arrival.

Can I park next to my pitch?  we've allowed for space for 1 car WITHIN each pitch. pitch sizes are 8x10m for a large and 5x8m for a small. Extra vehicles must park in our parking area at an extra cost of £5 per day.

Is there drinking water available? Yes we have taps for drinking water by the showers.

​

What facilities do you provide? - on site you will find toilets, showers, drinking water and from the thursday we will have a bar providing an array of refreshments both alcoholic and soft, food vendors & hot drinks.

We will also have waste disposal dotted around the site which we encourage our campers to use.

 

Can we bring gazebos? yes, a gazebo should be fine providing its not too big and keeps within your pitch.

Can we bring pets? Yes dogs are welcome, however we ask that they are kept on leads at all time

​

How far is the Air tattoo from the campsite? The base is literally a 5 minute walk from the site with the entrance to the air tattoo, we have a pedestrian route across the neighbouring field which takes you straight to the pedestrian entrance of the base.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my pitch booking? There is a non-refundable 50% deposit taken on bookings, however, the remaining balance of the booking will be refundable providing the cancellation is made and in writing 55 days prior to your arrival date. cancellations made after the final balance has been taken are non-refundable. Bookings will not be refunded in the event of the airshow being cancelled or part cancelled as it is out of our hands. We will not issue refunds based on no shows due to RIAT traffic. Please plan your journey ahead of time.

Do you have electric hook up points? We do not have electric hook ups or charging points unfortunately.

Can I have a bbq? yes, providing the BBQ does not damage the grass and is disposed of and extinguished safely. BBQ's MUST be off the ground. Please bare in mind that if it is hot weather, the grass and surrounding shrubbery will be dry so fire safety is paramount. NO CAMPFIRES.

Do you take caravans and motorhomes ? - Our campsite is for tents only.

 

What time can I arrive and check in and when do I need to check out? check in is from 8am to 8pm on the day of arrival. if you arrive on tuesday , please note we will still be setting up camp so please plan to arrive later in the day to ensure the amenities are up and running. we advise you plan to arrive ahead of the weekend due to the traffic, however if you do wish to arrive on the saturday, please plan to arrive between 11am and 3pm as the traffic before and after that is extremely difficult to navigate. we are not responsible for any disruptions to your travel caused by the RIAT traffic.

Check out is by 11am. you can pack up your pitch and leave your car in the parking area if you would like to but please inform a member of staff if you'd like to do so.

What do I need to bring with me to check in? you will need your booking confirmation, either printed out or on your mobile.

Can I pitch next to my friends? Yes of course! Just drop us an email once you've booked with the name of the booking you would like to be pitched next to and we will ensure you are allocated pitches together.

Can i bring friends along that i haven't booked for? Bookings are made PER PERSON not per pitch. If you wish to bring more campers, please email ahead of your arrival to pay for extra campers. please do so before JUNE 2025 to ensure we have enough amenities to accommodate the amount of people on site. If you arrive with more people than stated on your booking confirmation you may be denied access.

Can friends and family join us on our pitch for the day? Yes, however they must park in the parking area and pay £15 for the parking spot for the day and leave by 11pm.

Can we visit for the day?

Day visitors are welcome from the Thursday through to Sunday at a charge of £15 per car, free on foot or bicycle. unfortunately we cannot allow you to set up a camp near your car as there will not be enough space and the parking area is close to livestock, so we ask that all day visitors use our hospitality and viewing area. snacks and water are allowed to be brought onto site but bbq's , alcohol and picnics are prohibited for day visitors and we ask that you use our bar and food vendors. Day visitors can arrive from 8am and must leave by 11pm.
